The story stars Chris Hansen (Robert Pattinson) as a charismatic, NBC anchor looking to make his mark. As the show ranges nto a viral ratings phenomenon, the operation hires Dan Plumb (Skyler Gisondo), a naive, young actor desperate for a SAG card to play the decoy. The film tracks the psychological decay of everyone involved as Hansen’s ego, the network’s greed, and the mob mentality of the viewing public turn a moral mission into prime-time spectacle. All this forms crux of the movie.

The radioactive, claustrophobic aesthetic leaves the audience feeling as though they are watching something toxic and decaying in real-time.
