Overview : Ohh My Dog , is a heartwarming canine drama with a thriller-mystery angle.
Storyline :The film operates on two parallel narratives: The story begins with funeral of a police dog named senapati for his services to the nation. After this brief ,story the narrative moves to Bihar and Assam. In Assam, Apu (Maahi Rai)’s dog, Momo (played by Oscar the Dog), while the two are playing one morning. with a ball , when Maahii throws the ball at a long shot momo runs to catch it , but in this quest he goes missing The local SHO, Yusuf (Vijay Vidyadhar Mishra), reassures the kid, who is very tech -savvy, and intelligent , that he will find him. But with a heavy heart, he explains to Apu’s equally distraught mother (Geeta Agarwal Sharma), that dogs are being smuggled kout of Assam by a tribe for consumption and chances are bleak. Apu’s teacher, Krishna (Sulakhyana Baruah), also misses him, and together they decide to investigate in a very tech wizard way
In Patna ( Bihar) a poor young boy Prince (Nikhil Kumar) who works as labour at a construction site .His parents stay far away but he is in patna He befriends a dog name ,Oscar (played by dog Bruno), One fine day suddenly Prince goes missing, But his faithful dog Oscar sennses something amiss Oscar follows princes scent. and brings all fellow workers together to find prince .Prince’s friends rally around his bereaved parents and sisters and entreat their Masterji (Pankaj Tripathi) for help. They approach the local (inspector) played by Rajesh Kumar. What everyone does not know that there is a kidney racket going on in the city and the Inspector and his men are also involved with the gang as they also receive their share so that they overlook it
The two stories run in parallel and never intersect, and tensions build up even as Apu goes to impossible odds to save Momo, while Oscar leaves no ‘smell’ unturned to locate Prince all this forms crux of the story
Technical Review: Amit Rai crafts a grounded, emotionally resonante story built around human-animal companionship.
Director Relied the movie mostly on real animal actions rather than artificial CGI stunt , which requires a lot of efforts Also running 2 parallel stories and never merging it is another milestone achieved in itself , At around 150 minutes, the film feels slightly stretched in the middle and could have trimmed 10 minutes for a tighter edit.
Performances: The Canines (Bruno & Oscar): The two dogs are the absolute stars of the film. Their natural charisma, expressions, and training carry the emotional weight effortlessly without relying heavily on CGI.
Maahi Rai (Apu): The child actor delivers an earnest debut performance, anchoring the emotional stakes of a child desperately trying to save his pet.
Pankaj Tripathi is under utilized , though he does brings gravitas to the movie no matter how small his role is
Final Words :Ohh My Dog is a , engaging family watch. If you are a dog lover or enjoy clean, heart-driven adventure-dramas, it delivers genuine warmth and steady entertainment.
