Overview: The Furious is a spectacular, run-and-gun, martial arts masterpiece,
Storyline:The story is set up in small town in bangko where Wang Wei (played by Xie Miao), a mute handyman with a mysterious and highly dangerous past has left all his past things after his wife expired now he is , living a quiet life with his daughter.
He comes to know from news channel that many children are missing from his town though he is caustious and tells his daughter to learn kung fu karate but she is reluctant , he wants to send her away to boarding school in town , but she wants to stay with her father , her father wants to cut her hair short but she gets upset and runs from the salon and unfortunately she is kidnapped by the brutal child-trafficking ring , his father tries to catch up to the truck in which she is dumped but he is beaten up badly , then he goes to the local police station but he corrupt local police refuse to help, he goes on an absolute rampage., mentally and physically prepared himself , and goes on the mission to bust this ring , Along the way, he teams up with Navin (Joe Taslim),Meanwhile, Navin’s wife, Matia, is a journalist who has been investigating the same trafficking case. Unfortunately, she’s flown too close to the sun and gone missing as a result. Navin remains determined to find her, and that sets him on a collision course with Wang Wei. Together, they work their way up the syndicate’s ladder, boss by boss., tracking night clubs with fight cage ring in between many twists and turns come up that forms the crux of the movie
Technical Review : It’s al and all action thriller with world class action choreography by Tanigaki who is a stunt-industry veteran,fight choreography is visible, tight, and completely free of the messy “shaky cam”.While there are plenty of guns and knives, the film shines when characters weaponize everyday objects.
involving sledgehammers, ice picks, and a completely unhinged moment where characters use bicycles in hand-to-hand combat.
The second half drags a bit especially towards the end
Performances: Xie Miao has given a stand out performance by delivering immense emotional depth, frustration, and heartbreak entirely through his facial expressions and physical acting without uttering a single word. Meanwhile, Joe Taslim brings his signature slick charisma and incredible fighting prowess to the movie
Final Words : If you like high octane , blood-soaked adrenaline rush with top-tier martial arts choreography, The Furious is a must-watch
