Review Of Movie Uff Yeh Siyapa- A Silent Comedy

Star cast :Sohum Shah, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Nora Fatehi, Sharib Hashmi, Omkar Kapoor

Director :G Ashok

Overview: The movie tries to relive the era of puspak starring Kamal Haasan but fails miserably

.

Storyline:The story revolves around Kesriilal Singh (SohumShah) , whose wife Pushpa ( Nushratt Bharucha ) leaves him along with their son , as she thinks that her husband is flirting with their neighbour Kamini (Nora Fatehi) Pushpa goes to her maternal home. Kesari is devastated as his wife has misunderstood him , he tries to clear his name but before that he gets stuck in another issue a drug parcel gets wrongly  delivered to his place following that he also finds a dead body at his place ,once he tries to deal with it another body is found at his place , on the other hand a police inspector also enters his house , he is totally stuck in this message , there are many other characters are jumbled up , how he tries to come out of it firms the crux of the film

Technical Review :The film, despite being a silent comedy, features a score by A.R. Rahman, that gives it some depth but the films script is poorly written and executed despite it having sting background score and music by A.R Rehman. The plot and characters are confusing plus the length could have been trimmed

Performances:Sohum Shah’s character is described as a “bumbler” and “embarrassing,” a far cry from his impressive performances in The Ship of Theseus and Tumbaad

Nusrat Bharucha Spends much of her screen time “moaning and groaning,” mirroring the audience’s experience

Nora Fatehi is average

Sharib Hashmi is wasted.

Final Words : Uff Yeh Siyapaa is a critically panned silent comedy which can be watched once due to its music and performances

Ratings : 3*/5*
