Overview :The movie showcases class and caste rage here, and a man’s desire to ‘snatch’ what won’t come to him by fair means.
Storyline:The story is set in Allahabad and the year is 1988. Where Deepak (RajkumaarRao) son of a simple farmer gets into vengeance when his father is brutally assaulted for protecting his Maaliks Feilds , when no one listens to his plea for justice he himself turns into gangster, His Mantra is Maalik Paida Nahi Hua toh Kya ban toh sakta hu ,He has the support of the local political leader Shankar Singh aka Dadda (Saurabh Shukla). Dadda also mentors MLA Balhar Singh (Swanand Kirkire) and he’s fed up with the rising power of Maalik. Things get heated when Maalik kills a cop for stopping his trucks at a checkpost. With no other option, MLA assigns Prabhu Das (Prosenjit Chatterjee) as the new SP of Allahabad. Prabhu has 98 encounters record and was suspended for his activities. As he commences his duty in Allahabad, he decides to eliminate Maalik once and for all, from thereon the chase and begins and bloody action sequences take place that forms the crux of the movie
Technical Review : The Movie has nothing new to offer , many gangster movies have been there for aged , The pacing of the movie is problematic, the editing is uneven, and the narrative contrivances are left uncovered.
The background score that assumes its own life at crucial junctures and is not integrated well into the narrative. The scenes and language that have won the film an adult certificate are avoidable.
Performances : Rajkummar Rao Has Presented Himself With This New Role As A Gangster that is the plus point of the movie , as he is a good actor and performs each character to his best
Saurabh Sachdeva and Prosenjit Chatterjee shine initially before dissolving into routine stereotypes.
Swanand Kirkire is brilliant in parts and Manushi Chhillar has nothing much to do .Huma Qureshi has done an item no which is mandatory in such gangster movie.
