Overview : Its an simple story with high quotient of morality and merit
Storyline : The story is set in Benaras. Our Babarasi Babu Ranjan Tiwari ( Rajkummar Rao) is in love with Titli (Wamiqa Gabbi) , The opening scene shows that both Ranjan & Titli are eloping to get married but mid way they change their mind & want to go back home to their respective parents but they get caught by police , both of their parents reach police station , Titli’s father rolls out a condition that he will agree to titles and Ranjan’s wedding if within 2 months he secures a govt job .Ranjan has been applying for government job for 2 years but no response , now he is in a fix as to how he will get govt job in 2 months . He pays two lakhs rupees to a middleman Bhagwan ( Sanjay Mishra) ,
The latter arranges such that the job goes to him rather than a deserving candidate, Hamid (Akash Makhija),who was initially chosen .On the other Hand Ranjan goes through a series of unnerving and bizarre experiences, one because he had not fulfilled his promise to lord Shiva that if he gets govt job , he will so one good deed , Secondly he unknowingly got a job of Hamid who was a deserving candidate .Hamid Is so frustrated that he wants to end his life , ranjan comes to know about this he is determined to save his life , how ranjan gets out of this situation forms the crux of the movie.
Technical Review : Karan Sharma Director has a good idea of the base and imparts a novel touch to the saga.The Director has aims to tell us that no job, however lucrative or promising, should be sought and acquired on grounds other than merit .The script is novel with good performances that reflects life in a small town in a very true and suttle way .Though are repetitive Scenes in second half which kind if slows the pace of the film .But the climax is good and engaging .It will connect with masses.
Performances : Rajkummar Rao plays these small town boy’s role perfectly and mounds himself totally in that character .Wamiqa Gabbi is good and her dialogues are quiet bold compared to rajkummar.Other are good as per their role
Final Words : Its an entertaining movie with clean comedy that you can enjoy with family this weekend
