Director: Michael Morris

Overview : This is the fourth sequel in this Franchisee.Bridget remains one of the most iconic characters in modern romantic comedy

Storyline :Eight years after Bridget Jones confirmed that her baby belonged to Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) and they got married, she is now a widow with an eight-year-old son, Billy, and a five-year-old daughter, Mabel. Four years previous, Mark was killed in an explosion while in Sudan for business , and the movie begins with Bridget being interrogated about her love and sex life at a dinner party. In typical Bridget fashion, she feels her life is an utter mess (despite having a huge home in one of London’s most sought-after areas, and doesn’t have to work), and wants a fresh start in her life. She returns to work as a TV producer and coincidentally also begins a fling with the much younger,  handsome Roxster (Leo Woodall). They Both fall for each other Head over Heels but her fantasy love is short lived .On the other hand  Bridget also strikes up a connection with the authoritative new science teacher, Mr. Wallaker (Chiwetel Ejiofor), at her children’s school. Juggling kids, a new busy sex life, ensuring that her kids are raised properly  and grieving the loss of Mark, and aiming to reclaim some of her own identity in life, Bridget embarks on a midlife rediscovery of herself that forms the crux of the film.

Technical Review :Director Michael Morris brings a fresh but respectful touch to the franchise. His direction allows for moments of introspection while still embracing the classic Bridget Jones brand of humour. The film’s balance of comedy and emotional depth works well for the most part,

One of the film’s biggest strengths is its willingness to engage with Bridget’s age and life stage without treating it as a gimmick. The script doesn’t shy away from the realities of dating in middle age, from navigating dating apps to the unspoken double standards that w

Performances : ReneeZellweger is delightful and witty and she is the centre of attraction

Hugh Grant is in his element as the gleefully inappropriate Daniel Cleaver. Leo Woodall says and does all the right things as Leo Woodall, while Chiwetel Ejiofor is intelligent and responsible as Mr Wallaker. Emma Thompson is flawless as Jones’ friend and gynaecologist.

Final Words : This latest chapter is both a poignant evolution for Bridget and a warm return to the humour and romantic misadventures that made the character iconic..Its a delightful watch this weekend
