Overview :Dukaan is a story about the resilience of the human spirit and the enduring power of love

Storyline : The film is set in Anand Gujarat where we are introduced to Jasmine Patel ( Monika Panwar)who is a free spirited girl and has no maternal instinct or any sort of emotional attachment , she only believes in enjoying life ,but a major twist comes in the story when in a natural calamity  Jasmine loses her husband Sumer ( Sikander Kher ) from thereon a transformation occurs in Jasmine’s life  to fulfill her responsibility to get her step daughter married,Jasmine’s transformation from a carefree individual with no maternal instincts as she sends her own son to boys hostel abd she herself turns  to a surrogate baby-making machine after she realises it is a mercenary world where wealthy childless couples rent a womb from underprivileged women.

The story picks up momentum after Jasmine has a change of heart as her maternal instinct gets activated during her third surrogate pregnancy and decides not to hand over the child to its prospective parents, Armaan and Diya (Soham Majumdar and Monali Thakur) Why did jasmine had a change of heart and what will all this lead to forms crux of the film.

Technical Review : The films strength lies in its ability to potray the multifaceted nature of surrogacy in a subtle way minus the melodrama .The Films cinematigrsphy beautifully captures the scenic beauty of hujrat along with its folklore The attention to detail in every frame is evident, showcasing the filmmakers’ commitment to creating a visually stunning and emotionally compelling cinematic experience.Director has put the point across like any  other industry even surrogacy should get respect and surrogate mothers should be treated like family .

Performances : Monika Punwar delivers a standout performance with her character as a free spitlrited girl to a commited surrogate mother showcasing vulnerability and strength two different frames but she has put life to jasmine as a character with great charishma. Sikander kher has small role but manages to light up the screen.Sohum Majumdar and Monali Thakur are good as per their role .Supporting Caste also have powerful performances. 

Final Words : The story is different with the tagline like Bachon ki Dukaan nahi Umeed Ki Dukan.
