Review Of Movie Article 370 – A Powerful Subject With Interesting Approach & Intense Performances

Overview : An earnest attempt to show the nuances of events that led to nullification of Article 370 which prevailed in Kashmir.

Storyline : The film is divided into 5 chapters , It begins with a footage from 1947 , voice over by Ajay Devgan , as to how Kashmir was given a special status and how article 370 came into being , Then the movie then moves  to 2016 when following Kashmir Unrest , when Intelligence Field Officer Zooni Haksar ( Yami Gautam Dhar) is discreetly recruited by PMO secretary Rajeshwari ( Priyamani Swaminathan) to head National Intelligence Agency on a mission in Kashmir  to curb terrorirsm , corrupt officers , fight separatist and uncover conflict economy months before the abrogation of Article 370 comes into light. What follows is the roller coaster of research  , planning , action sequences and execution of abrogation of article 370  which forms the crux of the film.

Technical Review : Director Aditya Suhas Janbhale has very well directed the movie ,presented the events that led to removal of article 370 in a very subtle way so that the common public can easily understand what exactly was article 370 , how it led to kashmir unrest and how  step by step events were  executed for its removal , this all is weaved in chapters to form an interesting story . The first half is a slow burner which sets the tone for a more impactful and interesting plot in second half , with pulwama attack shown just before interval .The  impactful writing is enhanced with smooth screenplay and sharp editing.

Performances:Yami Gautam and Priyamani have given a powerful performance .Yami with her action sequences as she is field officer and Priyamani with her solid body language and poise of PMO Secretary has given beautiful Performances, kudos to women power.

Final Word : The movie leaves an impact without being too patriotic or showing too much voilence .Its a great weekend watch.
