Overview : The film showcases joy and anxiety of an iit aspirants , set in late 90’s India
Storyline : The Story is set in late nineties, India wherein Every middle class family aspires their children to appear for IIT examinations , for stability and respect in their life.
The story is set in Lucknow wherein Vivek’s father RK Singh (a delightful Shashi Bhushan) isn’t taking any chances. He escorts his son Vivek ( Bodhisattva) to Kota, Rajasthan for admission in IIT Coaching Centre which is growing to possibilities of becoming the country’s coaching hub. From here, Vivek’s coming-of-age begins. Like any other teenager, he strives to explore friendship and love, while trying to balance academics, expectations and hormones. Back home, his parents are undergoing their own struggles. Father RK Singh is staring at expulsion from the telecom department, after a tricolor-themed cake he was in charge of, has its colors upside down. Mother Manju ( Geeta Aggarwal Sharma), on the other hand, is being harassed by a youth, due to some issue between them .
What Vivek and his family goes through in order to achieve some control in life firms the crux of the film.
Technical Review : Varun Grower who is a know writer and Lyricist , debuts as Director with this film .He has managed to recreate India in late 90’,s , it takes us to nostalgic era of public phone booths , walkmans and much more .When telephone was a luxury .There was not much technical advancement .The story that he has chosen has nothing new to offer , recently 12th fail is on the same line .
The story deals with themes of youth indecisiveness and finding yourself. Also how parents face loneliness after their son go for coaching .There are some fine touches but the film never gives more than the sum of its parts.
Performances : Bodhisattva has given good performance depicting indecisiveness regarding career , friends. , parents etc.
Others are good as per their role
Final Word : A simple story which can be watched once .
