ThOverview : Music school is all about education vs. extracurricular activities and parent oppression vs. student freedom

Storyline :The story revolves around the concept of parents pressuring children to just focus on studies in today’s time , according to them any extra curricular activity like arts , music & sports or sports is a waste of time in today’s competitive world .The fil is set in Hyderabad wherein Manoj ( Sharman Joshi ) is an Arts Teacher who always say that there are no kids attending his class , amidst this Mary ( Shriya Saran) music teacher joins the school , with singing song I am from Goa as it is a musical film , Manoj Suggest Mary to open up a Music School wherein they both can contribute in a form of art and also suggest that they will host play sound of music as their annual day programme , the only challenge is to get students to enroll in their school .They both somehow manage to convince some parents to get children to enroll in their school but due to constant parents intervene , the children are unable to focus., So Grandmother of one of the students suggest Mary to take students to goa for 3 weeks christmas holiday and prepare them for the play , once they reach goa there are many twists and turns involving teenage crush , teacher’s romantic past and present , what all this leads too forms the crux of the movie.
Technical Review :As a first time Director Papa Rao Biyalla has chosen a relevant subject and very well depicted the plight of children in today’s time where children are expected from both parents and teacher equally to only concentrate on studies with no extra curricular activities at all. The first half is well balanced this concept but the second half goes haywire and focuses on teenage romance and its complexity.
The long musical notes makes it a tedious watch .There are 11 songs in the movie including Hollywood classics like Do re mi , Long time Farewell & Sixteen going on Seventeen are soothing to listen too. The film needs better scripting and Screenplay.

Performances : Shriya Saran is a delight to watch , She lights up the screen with her performance.
Sharman Joshi’s performance is warm and soothing , his on screen chemistry with Shriya is good ..Prakash Raj and Leela Samson are good as per their character .
Shaan is a surprise package .Rest of the kids are good. Ozu Barua and Gracy Goswami stand out.
Final Words : Its a simple film with a social message to raise awareness among the viewers ..Its simplicity and musical journey will tug at your heart strings.
