Review Of Hindi Movie IB 71 : A Cool Spy Thriller Based On True Events

Overview : Ib 71 delves into the prelude to Indo -Pakistan War of 1971.

Storyline : The story revolves around Dev ( Vidyut Jammwal) who is a intelligence officer ,top agent  he is on a undercover  mission in Pakistani army camp , he confidentially faces them and gets the info that Pakistan is planning an attack on India with china alliance ,within 10 days , India is unaware of this information and also not prepared for the same . Dev reveals the info to Intelligence Bureau Chief Awasti ( Anupam Kher), both of them come up with a plan to save the nation without firing a single bullet or letting the neighboring country get the slightest hint about it. As mobilizing the army at a short notice appears to be a tough task, they suggest blocking of the air space to prevent Pakistan and China from attacking India. Dev is assigned this task and how he accomplishes this confidential mission in the next 10 days, along with 30 other undercover agents forms the crux of the film.

Technical Review : Director Sankalp who has earlier directed Ghazi Attack , Had given yet another thriller espionage based on true events from the 1971 war era .He has very well directed the movie ..Though the first half is sluggish and it will leave the audience a bit confused as to what exactly is the plan to be executed by Intelligence Bureau ..But the second half is totally thrilling as all pieces of the puzzle takes shape and  leave audience in awe ..Background score could have been a little subtle but cinematography is too good to be missed.  Kashmir Ice laided Mountain peeks are shown beautifully,  Dal lake is too enchanting .

Performances  : Vidyut Jammwal who is otherwise an action hero , have deviate into playing Intelligence officer who is good at planning and executing his mission with a few action sequences,  he has played the role perfectly with focus on his acting and body language more ..

Vishal Jethwa as Qasim Qureshi, a brainwashed youth, is in his element. He shows his arrogant  side as well his comic side with perfection.He potrays some fun moments in otherwise serious movie.

Anupam Kher as Bureau Chief Has mastered his role to perfection. 

Final Words : Watch Ib 71 to unfold yet another untold story from war era of 1971 ..Its a thrill in the climax sequences that makes it enjoyable to watch.
