Director: Gunasekhar
Star Cast: Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Dev Mohan, Sachin Khedekar, Mohan Babu, Madhoo, Kabir Bedi, Jisshu Sengupta, and Allu Arha

Overview : The film is based on Kalidasa’s popular play Abhignyana Shakuntala, with the plot built around the iconic love story of King Dushyant of the Puru Dynasty and his wife Shakuntala.

Storyline : The story is set in ancient time , The story starts with Menaka’s (played by Madhoo) daughter Shakuntala (played by Samantha) being abandoned in a jungle many years ago and afopted by a Rishi as his daughter , she grows up to be a beautiful girl who is adored by animals , burds and all ashram people …amidst all this as we all know there were vinstsnt warwabetween asur’s and rishi’s , Asur’s always were on the look out to create a hurdle when rishi’s and muni’s conducted havans , King Dushyant who was known for his glory took up the responsibility to keep asurs at bay and prevent them from creating any hurdles , thereon during his visit King Dushyant meets Shakuntala and he gets mesmerized by her beauty and they decide to do gandharva marriage ..He returns to his kingdom , promising Shakuntala that he will come to take her with proper baarat, months pass by but King Dushyant never returned , Shakuntala gets pregnant, she has to meet King Dushyant , who had totally forgotten her due to a rishi durvasha curse , what happens next forms the crux of the movie.

Technical Review : Though the director has treid hard to create authentic ancient times with costumes and big sets of that era re created , but the story and screenplay has many flaws , there is a lot of narrative that is missing in the story ..Lots of history and back story is told in fast pace..The first half is too slow and dragging with long songs that makes it boring . The vfx and visuals that too in 3Dbis the only icing on the cake that is sweet .Second half catches pace due to Shakuntala and Dushyant Son Bharat who in future becomes the creator and fonder of Bharat our country.
Performances : Samantha Ruth Prabhus is looking gorgeous as Shakuntala but she needs a lot to be worked on her acting skillscand expressions. King Dushyant played by Dev Mohan is good , he has played both part as warrior and lover to perfection. Surprise package is Allu Araha as Bharat is too cute and adorable.
Final Words : Itsba mythical love story that can be enjoyed in big screen in 3D that makes ot appealing.
