Overview : The movie depicts plight and hardships of app delivery riders
Storyline : Movie is set in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Zwigato follows the life of Manas (Kapil Sharma), an ex-factory floor manager who had to sit at home jobless for eight-months due to natural calamit. Being the only breadwinner in the family of five — his wife Pratime (Shahana Goswami), children Kartik (Prajwal Sahoo) and Purbi (Yuvika Brahma) and a bed-ridden ailing mother, Maai (Shantilata Padhy), Manas ends up signing up as a partner with a food delivery app called Zwigato . He then manoeuvres his way to understand the tricks of the trade, trying to crack the complicated rating system, hoping to achieve daily delivery target, encountering difficult customers and sometimes, requesting for a selfie with them to earn that extra incentive. While going through all these hardships he gets frustrated , while his wife Pratima gets an off of working as house keeping staff at a big mall but Manas middle class mentality and male ego comes in her way , whether manas accepts the lessons of life and move on forms the crux of the movie.
Technical Review : Director and Co Writer Nandita Das has written a story to be narrated at a slow pace , throwing ligth on various issues of majority of labour class ,here she has depicted life of food &grocery delivery guys , how they are manipulated by app company’s and what each day turbulence that they have to go through in a day very closely , She has thrown light on also unemployment in our country which is two fold than any other country .. Though movie is good on content but the screenplay is weak and its dragging , First half and second half is same the story is not moving but atleast the end is quiet good , there is a good dailogue which is highligth of the film which goes by “Woh Majboor hai isliye Mazdoor hai but Kapil Sharma says Woh Mazdoor hai isiliye Majboor hai.”
Performances : Kapil Sharma Manas has shred his comfort zone from playing and hosting comedy show to doing a serious role of a delivery rider , he has tried his best to do full justice to the role but due to poor screenplay couldn’t live upto it.
Shahana Goswami is the best , she shines in her character , her body language and diction of a jharkandi residing in odhisha is perfect
Final Words : The story concept is different depicting life of app delivery riders who have become intricate part of majority of urban class
Can be watched as per one’s liking
