Star Cast :Brendan Fraser, Sadie Sink, Hong Chau, Samantha Morton, Ty Simpkins, Sathya Sridharan
Director :Darren Aronofsky

Storyline : Based on the play by Samuel D. Hunter, “The Whale” takes place in a single setting, the home of Charlie (Fraser), who is an english professar who takes online classes but he hides his photo by putting off the webcam as he is a gravely obese gay man who is in the last days of his life due complex health issues and a life full of regret .
Charlie’s life spirals following the death of his partner .His friend Liz (Hong Chau), a nurse, visits every day and urges him to check into a hospital, but he won’t go. He’s pretty much resigned to dying sometime over the next week.
This sounds grim, and to an extent it is . But the performances are exhilarating. Just watching the play of emotion on Fraser’s face makes “The Whale” worth experiencing, and he’s not alone up there.
Samantha Morton, as Charlie’s estranged wife. Ty Simpkins plays a young missionary who shows up at Charlie’s door, who’s almost as mentally wrecked as Charlie is physically. The one apparent weak link is Sadie Sink as Charlie’s teenage daughter — . Sink is playing someone who is not some troubled teen but she is nasty and spoilt . All anger is bubble up inside her which has made her nasty. Charlies complex life is revealed in a slow motion and brutal way.

Technical Review : The Director has put up total show on the shoulders of charlie , the protagonist .The sharp script is delivered with slow brutality by Darren Aronofsky who gets to the heart of what it means to be Charlie.

Performañces : Fraser as Charlie has given performance of his lifetime .Fraser is aided by the suit, but for the most part, it presents a challenge. Fraser has the acting task of carrying a movie with his body and part of his face encased in rubber. It’s a tough job and tough situation to be in.
If Fraser’s performance is at the heart of The Whale then Sadie Sink, who plays his daughter, Ellie, is the soul. The anger bubbling up inside her is a counterpoint to Fraser’s sadness
Final Words :The Whale is hard but astounding film to watch
