Review Of Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh- A Powerful Subject Based On Fiction Idea

Overview :Film is based on the idea of making the two most politically charged distinct ideologies clash and blend into each other.

Storyline : The film begins in the era when India and Pakistan partition happened and there was unrest everywhere and riots between hindu and muslim , during that time Nathuram Godse who was a hard core Hindutva follower , as in history we all know that gandhiji was killed by godse , but in this story , he does tried to kill him but Gandhiji survives the bullets , from there the story changes the track , gandhiji is shown serving the nation and working on upliftment of villages and working for rights of farmers , but due to some political conspiracy   gandhi is declared traitor and he is sentenced to jail, gandhiji demands that he should be kept in same jail as godse , from there on there is exchange and dailogue between gandhi and godse , discussion on difference of ideology forms the crux of the film

Technical Review : For a film that is about the battle between the ideologies comes to its main conflict too late. While we are told how the environment was constantly fluctuating its inclination towards and against Gandhi, the screenplay ends up investing too much time in the same. And when it finally decides to enter the real conversation that it has promised, it channelizes the entire thing into episodes where the conflict is raised and solved quite quickly .The set designs are good and cinematography is brilliant

Performances: Deepak Antani has played Gandhi in over 100 plays and he has become one with the part. There is ease in how he treats the on-screen replication of the nation’s most revered figure. He misses no note and aces everything

Chinmay Mandlekar as Godse has acted as he is acting in a play.

Tanisha Santoshi debuts in this movie but she is seen just crying all the time on any given situation.

Final Words : Though the film’s concept is interesting but it gets lost midway and goes haywire.
