Shamshera A Magnum Opus Vision Of Its Director Karan Malhotra & A delight For Actress Vaani Kapoor

Yrf had arranged interviews for shamshera of Director Karan Malhotra and Heroine Vaani Kapoor .

There is a buzz in the film circuit that Shamshera is somewhat similiar to thugs of hindustan ? Is it true ? 

I don’t think Shamshera is similar to any other film whether in spirit or story. It is an animal of its own,” Malhotra said emphatically.

The director backed his views with good reasons. He says, “I don’t think there is any accurate reference point to what Shamshera has eventually become in its complete form. Yes, it is a period film. We have British in it, there is a tribe, it has action and everything but when you see the film it will still feel like today’s film.”

“You watch an American film like a Braveheart or The Last of the Mohicans you still enjoy each one of them despite  they being your period or historical films. You still like the crafting, the mounting of it. I would say that Shamshera would fall into that category of experience,” added Malhotra.

Lead actress Vaani Kapoor echoed the same sentiments. Says she, “It’s a very different film from Thugs of Hindostan [2018] or any other film. It is a different concept with a different director, different cast,  a different vision altogether. I think it would be unfair to compare any film with any other film in the past or future. I hope every film gets its due respect and credit”

Vaani Kapoor is compared to katrina kaif in thugs of hindustan as per se trailer , answering this question Vaani Said :

“There is only so much that you have seen in the trailer. One must be perceiving way more than one can understand from the trailer or the song that has come out. There is a different arc to my character. I’ve seen Thugs of Hindostan .it is a different film. Katrina is a wonderful dancer, actor. If you’re comparing me [with someone] then please compare me with a beauty,” quipped Vaani

How was your overall experience working in this film

Vaani replies .: Its a wonderful experience as for first i am doing a movie of this scale and director of this caliber..I believe in working hard , if i dont work hard i feel i have done nothing , karan is such type of director who pushes you to your limits ..I like that he can push me and get such work done which i dont believe that i can do so myself 

Director karan malhotra was asked whether shamshera was always planned to be a grand movie of big scale or it became big

Karan said , Shamshera was planned to be a big scale movie , idea was to show it in all its glory , and to make a magnum opus , of course making such a movie needs lots of control and command over it to direct such big scale movie.

Shamshera releases on 22nd july in theatres
