2019 began with a bang! The high profile press conference hosted by the producers of “Cheat India” with Aaditya Thackeray and producer Sanjay Raut, was explosive in the real sense of the word.
The producer’s have preponed the release of movie from 25thJan to 18th Jan in order to avoid clash with Thackerey.
Said producers Bhushan Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, Tanuj Garg and Atul Kasbekar, “As a mark of respect to Balasaheb and to maximize the commerce, we arrived at a win-win decision. There should be no ego in business. We have, in the past, rescheduled the release of Aashiqui-2, Hindi Medium, Sonu Ke Teetu Ki Sweety and Tumhari Sulu, to align with business logic, and the results are for all to see.”
Raut, on the other hand, said that they are not bothered about the release of other films as just the name Thackeray was enough for people to come and see it. He said that the film had received rave reactions from the parliament.
Raut said that he was an accidental producer and he took up the making of the film, as he wanted the younger generation and people outside Maharashtra to know who Thackeray was and what his thoughts were.
“Thackeray was an ideology in itself. He went beyond politics. To be inspired and stand with conviction for that issue is very important. It’s a make or break year for India, not just in politics but the conviction that one should hold about India and what the future lies. It is very important for young boys and girls to think how you can take your own life and country ahead.”
Aditya Thackeray, “First people will watch Cheat India and get frustrated with our system! Then they will watch Thackeray and get inspired to do something! I feel I am a part of both the films. They are both very close to my heart.”
