Overview : The film depicts the plight of Under Trails in India . Its Based on true story of ‘Machung Lalung’ who an under trail , gets freedom after 54 years of imprisonment . He is proven innocent after 54 years.
Storyline : As mentioned above the film is inspired by real incident , based on that the film opens up in Central Jail where lead character’s Sanju (Aadar Jain ) and Bindu (Anya Singh) , are under trails who are victimised due to their respective circumstances . As they belong to poor families , they cannot bear huge legal fees , so they are in jail awaiting justice . One day , on account of the jail’s anniversary and independence day celebrations , the supertendient of the jail (Sachin Pilgaoankar ) , announces that a group be formed who have talent to sing and write songs both male and female be formed , to present a musical programme for the Minister who will be visiting . The Superintendent chooses 5 members from under trail which Sanju and Bindu are part of . They form a band named Senani Band and perform a song in front of the Minister and Media . Their song becomes so famous all over and a big hit on you tube . So much so that they get a chance to perform with a very famous rock band . One of the Member of that band tells them about a musical competition with a prize money of rs 50 lakhs . The Senani Band make a plan to escape , they convinces the superintendent that they need to buy musical instrument to make new songs as supertendient wants them due to his hidden agenda . The superintendent agrees and from there on the whirlwind of activities began . Will the senani band able to escape , will they be able to participate in the competition is for the audience to watch .
Script Analysis And Director Review : The script is new and fresh . The film builds it momentum throughout the film mostly due to its engaging script . Director Habib Faisal who has given films lie Do Dooni Chaar , Ishzaade and Dawaat –e- ishq , has given us a extremely remarkable job in this film .He has very well directed the film sequence by sequence , depicting the inmates life in a very realistic manner .
Performance : Aadar Jain and Anya Singh make thei debit with this film . They both have given a very good performance . They both are very confident in the film . Anya Singh has done a fantastic job , she has an endearing and arresting screen presence . Though Aadar Jain is good but he has to work on his facial expressions especially in emoting emotional scene .Sachin has mostly played positive roles in movies but in this film he has tried his hand at negative role that does not suit him.
Final Word : This film is a must watch for all who love to see talent at its best . The film also should be seen as it depicts the the fact that our judiciary system does more injustice to under trails instead of justice .
