Storyline: The stort revolves around Shyam (Saif Ali Khan) who is visually impaired since birth regardless of that he does various jobs but his main job been maintenance manager at a high-rise residential building in Mumbai , Shyam possesses heightened senses of sound and smell. a retired judge (Boman Irani) who stays at the same building , and is close to Shyam , The judge confinds in him all his secrets ,once during their conversation judge tells him One fine that that one of the convict Parshuram ( Akshay Kumar ) who he had o sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment , though he had not committed the crime but as all evidences were against him he had to give this verdict but Parshuram’s daughter was saved and the judge is taking care of her and protect her from Parshuram, Parshuram who had lost family due to his imprisonment, , He is devastated and affected mentally , but unaware that his daughter After he is out of jail he seeks vengence and is on a killing spree , He kills The judge too but unfortunately
Shyam stumbles onto the crime scene , he is Framed by the police, Shyam must clear his name and protect the judge’s secret daughter from Parshuram. After that many twists and turns happens that forms crux of the movie.
Technical Review : At nearly 2 hours and 45 minutes, the long first half drags significantly due to unnecessary detours, contrived subplots, and misplaced comedy.
The second half builds genuine tension and transforms into a far crisper cat-and-mouse chase, culminating in a well-staged visual climax.
Shyam’s closecombat fight sequences leverage his heightened senses effectively, offering a few stand-out moments.
Brief comedic scenesfeaturing the late Asrani provide brief sparks of classic Priyadarshan humor.
Background score sometime hinders the Thriller moments
Performances:Saif Ali Khan puts visible effort into capturing the physical nuances of a sightless character, particularly during the action sequences. Akshay Kumar brings a menacing presence as the antagonist,
Final Words : Haiwaan has flashes of a solid cat-and-mouse game, particularly in its atmospheric climax and faceoff moments. However, its long runtime, weak music, and loose writing keep it from matching the grit of the original Malayalam film. One time watch
