The grand launch event for the second season of the reality show “Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa” took place in Mumbai. The series has transitioned to a new streaming home on Netflix, premiering on June 27, 2026
The launch event introduced several massive shake-ups to the format, a brand-new hosting duo, and the first wave of celebrity contestants.
While the first season was hosted by Kangana Ranaut, the revamped Netflix edition is fronted by filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan and actor Riteish Deshmukh. Producer Ektaa Kapoor explained at the event that the show has undergone a complete creative overhaul, moving into a fresh “jailer-judge” dynamic tailored for Netflix’s global demographic..
Ekta Kapoor also said that Her Collaboration with Netflix will give the show global visibility.
Out of the 14 celebrity “inmates” who will spend six weeks cut off from the outside world, the first three official contestants were introduced on stage: The first one being Ram Kapoor, The veteran television and OTT actor said he joined because of his successful track record with Ektaa Kapoor.
Shivangi Joshi: The popular TV star acknowledged that her participation would surprise fans since she isn’t typically associated with intense, unfiltered reality formats.
Pamela Serena: The digital creator and Ms Universe Dubai 2021 winner, previously seen on Netflix’s Desi Bling, rounds out the initial trio.
The launch also sparked significant media buzz due to a tense exchange during the Q&A session. A reporter asked Riteish Deshmukh if he planned to bring his close friends Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt onto the show, referencing their past real-life legal troubles. Riteish sharply shut down the query, refusing to dignify the comment with an answer and clarifying that casting decisions rest solely with the producers, not the hosts.
Lock Up – Sach Ya Sazaa streams exclusively on Netflix starting June 27, 2026, with new episodes dropping every week from Saturday to Wednesday at 8 PM.
