Review of English Movie Eternity – A Heart Warming Story

Directed by David FreyneWritten by Pat Cunnane, David FreyneStarring Miles Teller, Elizabeth Olsen, Callum Turner, John Early, Olga Merediz, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph

Overview : Eternity approaches the afterlife in a comedic fashion, shedding light on its heavy themes

Story line : When Larry (Miles Teller) suddenly passes away he finds himself in a train to tower of after life, . When in tower of after life he finds himself in his young age he patiently waits for his wife, Joan who was on last stage of cancer (Elizabeth Olsen), to join him so they can spend eternity together .
The only problem? Joan’s first husband, Luke (Callum Turner), has been waiting for her for over 60 years after his untimely death. Given just one week to decide who she’ll spend the rest of her afterlife with, Joan must choose between someone she has built her life with and someone she never got the chance to.

Both Luke and Larry make compelling arguments as to why they deserve to spend eternity with Joan. One is her life partner, while the other found himself lost in time. Each puts understandable pressure on her, doing everything they can to convince her to choose them, such as reminiscing, pleading, and rekindling old feelings.

What decision will Joan take and will she follow the rules or break them all this forms the crux of the film

Technical Review: Director David Freyne and writer Pat Cunnane’s film throws a trio of beautiful dead folks into a fun game that extends beyond determining which eternity to inhabit forever,

The film’s pacing is gentle and meditative, occasionally to a fault. At roughly two hours, Eternity indulges in some narrative detours, especially in the second act, when Joan revisits pivotal memories.

Performances: Olsen’s portrayal of Joan is her strongest work in years—nuanced, delicate, full of cracks and unfinished feelings..

Luke, played with quiet tenderness by Callum Turner,

Turner’s performance is haunting in a subtle way; he embodies a man out of time who still radiates the intensity of a past love.

Larry played by Miles Teller is a contrast, representing commitment, resilience, and bringing surprising softness to the role, blending humor and insecurity into a portrait of someone terrified of losing the person he loved so fully

Final Words:The film is visually enchanting, emotionally engaging, and anchored by a trio of excellent performances.
It showcases that your soulmate is the one for eternity
