Overview:Anurag Kashyap’s brutal, cold world amidst a family setting.
Storyline:The story is set in Kanpur mid nineties,when gangs and gangsters were prevelant , The story is of a family consisting of Father Jabardast Singh ( Vineet Kumar) who is a Pehelwaan in an Akhara , he is married to Manjiri ( Monika Panwar) who herself is gold medalist in archery , They have Twins , Babloo and Dabloo both played by Aishwaryi Thackeray , Their Father Jabardast is frustrated as he is not getting to reach the state level in spite of powerful talent due to nepotis,He gets angry and kills his rival , Jabardast friend enters played by Kumud Mishra ,he has eye on jabardast ‘s wife manjiri , he ask Jabardast to surrender to police ,and he will help to get him baik but things go bad and jabardast is killed in jail , from thereon , Babloo who is ten years old gets angry and wants Revenge , he falls prey to Kumud Mishra who trains him to be a gangster , using him for his personal agenda , from thereon many crimes are committed and Babloo spends more of his growing years in prison , he is in and out of prison , after that there are many twists and turns , babloo’s girlfriend played by Vedika Pinto who is a dancer , even her father was killed by Babloo but he doesn’t disclose it to her ,for her he leaves Kumud Mishra’s gang and forms his own gang of Babloo , Dabloo and Rinku but Babloo gets caught in first big robbery itself , he is again in prison , what happens to Rinku and Dabloo thereafter forms the crux of the movie.
Technical Review : Anurag Kashyap is back after a long gap , the movie has his touch to show brutal reality of gangsters that’s still prevalent,Reality is shown at its full best , the dialogues are also delivered in that particular accent , Even there are some humorous moments too
Performances: Aishwaryi Thackeray as Babloo and Dabloo is too good , he is a delight to watch as The tough Gangster and As A Normal middle class guy, both roles he has done with sincerity, Mother Manjiri played by Monika she is too good her facial looks speak thousand words .Vedika is also good .
Final Words : It’s an all in all Anurag Kashyap movie showcasing the gangster world.
