Overview :The movie is about sterile connections between the modern dating scene and social economics prevailing in New York.

Storyline : The story is set against the  backdrop of Manhattan  City and it revolves who is an around Lucy (Dakota Johnson)  who  is an Ambitious Match Maker and who have recently set up  nine different clients with the  love of their life .At a recent client’s  wedding we see lucy in action , as she  tries to promote her job as a match maker , she has some high standards set by  herself  for matchmaking and she calculates each angle and trait of clients with math At this wedding lucy catches the interest of groom’s brother Harry Castilo (Pedro   Pascal ) who is a Unicorn in matchmaking terms, A bIllioanaire , six feet tall with a good hairline ,harry has all the traits Lucy’s client desire most but Harry has direct  interest in Lucy herself but on that same night Lucy is reunited with her ex- boyfriend John (Chris Evans) who is broke and down on his luck ,and woks as a waiter for a catering company ,while also persuing his acting ambitions , John wants to reconnect with her .Lucy is torn between following her heart  and persuing her relation with John or Go with Harry  who is perfect for her as per her math calculation=s as she believes that marriage is a business deal , she also struggles  with her career as her current client Sophie (Zoe Winters) who she had matched with someone who she thought was  matching with  Sophie’s profile , but that match turns to be horrific , this incident has left Lucy on the edge , what action Lucy will take forms the crux of the movie

Technical Review :

Celine Song Materialist is a worthy follow up of her previous movie Past Lives . She has very well portrayed how characters walking underneath the New Yorks’s Skyscrapers of the concrete jungle evoke a melancholic lonely feeling ,longing for true love amidst  the mind set that marriage is a business venture and those who fulfill the parameters only reach the wedding stage. .Celine Song script values the importance of showing rather than telling .Materialist is slow but thoughtfully paced to ensure each moment lands with earth shattering passion

Performances : Dakota Johnson is amazing and Pedro Pascal is also amazing

Chris Evans is charming and handsome  and his emotions are something to die for whether his vulnerability when he is broke or when he is upset are portrayed by him perfectly . Zoe Winters as Sophie is too good ,she is a woman who continues to believe that she deserves love despite the fear of rejection i.

Final Words : It’s a beauetiful Rom Com , which is picturized such that will connect to lonely modern society . Good Weekend Watch
