Zee TV Launches New Show Saru To Air On 14th May

Zee TV on Thursday 8th May 2025 , launched its new fiction show Saru, which tells the story of a young woman from rural Rajasthan who dreams of pursuing higher education and building a better future for herself. The show explores the emotional and societal challenges that come with leaving a small town to chase ambitions in the city.

The central character, Saru, is played by Mohak Matkar, who previously appeared in Hamara Parivar on the same network. Saru’s character is revealed as a Kabaddi champion with aspirations to become a district commissioner. Despite being confident and independent, Saru remains rooted in her values and traditions.

Speaking about her role, lead actor Mohak Matkar said, “Having been a part of Zee TV over the past year with Hamara Parivar, I am extremely excited to bag the lead role in a hard-hitting show like Saru. When I was approached for the show, I was over the moon and it was like a dream come true. From the mock shoot to our outdoor shoot in Udaipur, I have enjoyed every moment with the entire team. We have collaborated and worked together on the lines, and I have truly enjoyed the process, making it a wonderful experience for me till now.”

She added, “What I love most about my character, Saru, is her determination to become a self-made woman. I admire her passion for education, her desire to learn, and her drive to achieve success.
