Review Of Movie Jewel Theif -The Heist Begin – A fast Paced Thriller

Star Cast: Saif Ali Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Nikita Dutta, Kunal Kapoor

Director: Kookie Gulati And Robbie Grewal

Overview :The streetsmart hero with  a disturbed family history, a menacing villain, hero falling in love with the villain’s wife . hero initially working for the villain but planning to outsmart him with a master plan in actuality. This sums up the movie

Storyline : The story revolves around a ruthless gangster businessman  Rajan Aulakh ( Jaideep Ahalawat) who in the eyes of the world is an avid art collector and who has art paintings done in real blood by smashing the enemy with his fist , Aulakh come to know that a ruby diamond know as Red Sun  belonging to king of Africa,  is coming to Mumbai to exhibit in a museum ,as a part of world tour of the diamond, Aulakh wants that ruby , he appoints Con Artist and Theif Rehaan Roy( Saif Ali Khan) to steal this Red Sun whose value is 500 crores in the market. He uses Rehaan’s Father ( Kulbhushan Kharbanda ) as a bait so Rehan is forced to conduct this robbery heist , On the other hand Cop Vikram Patel ( Kunal Kapoor) chasing Rehaan for years for robberies,  chasing him across continents like Canada,  Budapest,  Istanbul Etc , failing every time .Rehaan Reaches Mumbai he plans the robbery , hacks into the security system of the museum that had world class security , breaks the code and what not , but when he meets Aulakh’s wife Farrah (Nikita Dutta) playing the distressed wife, trapped in a love-less, forced marriage with Rajan , Rehaan falls for her .Rehaan is determined to Steal the diamond and Farrah both for himself , from thereon starts the heist , and chases and many many twist turns and subplots that forms the crux of the movie

Technical Review : Though the movie is stylized and picturisecd at picturesz locations with glamrous looks and vibes but the story itself lacks body , Jewel Thief’ doesn’t only lack a good climax, but also a decent beginning and a gripping middle. It defies all logic in all senses .The cinematography is good but the screenplay lacks Lustre.

It’s is fast paced and entertaining but with no logic whatsoever

Performances :Saif looks stylish, throws his usual I-know-what-I-am-doing swag around, and gets the work done. Even Jaideep Ahlawat is fantastic as this rogue, ruthless businessman; the highlight being His dance moves at the closing credits Nikita Dutta has nothing much to do

Final Words :The scale of the movie is grand as partially set in Budapest so can be watched to enjoy good  locations forgetting about logic

Ratings : 2.5*/5*
