Overview :One man’s brutal campaign for vengeance takes on national stakes after it’s revealed he’s a former operative of a powerful and clandestine organization known as Beekeepers.

Storyline : Jason Statham stars as Arthur Clay, who keeps bees and lives out of an old barn owned by Eloise Parker (Phylicia Rashad). Eloise is a loving, kind woman who’s grateful to Clay for bringing the land back to life with help from his bees, but when she loses all her money as a result of a phishing scam,, she is so badly aghast that she takes her own life. Working against Parker’s FBI Agent daughter Verona (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Clay vows to find the men behind the phishing scheme and make them pay as Clay is not just a beekeeper but a retired Beekeeper: a former member of a secret, outside-the-government organization that works to “protect the hive” of the United States — and these scamsters have threatened the natural order by preying on the old and weak. Clay finds the call center that scammed Eloise relatively quickly, but can he unravel the conspiracy that traces back to the odious Gen Z scuzzball Derek Danforth (Josh Hutcherson), the brains of the outfit, and his handler, former CIA Director Wallace Westwyld (Jeremy Irons) .this journey forms the crux of the movie
Technical Review : Usually known for grittier, darker action films set in L.A. (Training Day and End of Watch), The Beekeeper doesn’t necessarily have any of the staples of director David Ayer’s filmmaking style. This is a far more cleaner looking film, both in terms of location and cinematography, than Ayer’s frantic and intensely shot filmography , and that works in favor of The Beekeeper because it’s still a competently well-made flick that has exciting, explosive, and at times quite brutal, set pieces that showcases Ayer’s ability to be varied and flexible in the way he presents action as a director
Performances :Jason Statham gives viewers some of the most epic action sequences they will see all year, Josh Hutcherson has an absolute blast as a spoiled rich kid who doesn’t care about anyone but himself he steals the show when it comes to the humor side of things
Final words : The Beekeeper might have a simplistic plot, with minimal twists and turns , but it is still a really fun time at the movies with good action sequences
Rating : 3.5*/5*
