Overview : A simple story with a powerful msg presented in a suttle way
Storyline : The story is set in Ahmedabad , gujrati family base , Where Satyaprem aka Sattu ( Kartik Aryan) is Complete loser , who failed his law degree , with no job and no friends , his only freind is his father played by gajjaraj rao , Sattu has a crush on Katha ( Kiara Advani ) who is a garba singer belonging to a very affluent family ,and who has a boyfriend belonging to equally well to do family ,but still sattu dreams of marrying her , while doing household work as , he is jobless, as he belongs to is unconventional wherein ,both father and son are jobless and house is run by mother daughter team ..
One fine day sattu’s father who is officially called gossip king , informs sattu that Katha is going through break up with her boyfreind , he is overjoyed and goes to meet her, but she was on brink of commiting suicide , sattu becomes her saviour so much that her parents come with her marriage proposal , sattu is so overjoyed that he overlooks the eeason behind katha’s suicide attempt and her reluctance to marry him , they get married but sattu is not accepted , whats the secret and the reveleation of the secret and its after effects forms the crux of the movie.
Technical Review : Director Sameer Vidwans who has previously directed marathi movies debuts in bollywood , he has very well directed the movie , though first half is slow giving u impression of a dull love story but the second half picks up brilliantly and the social message that the movie carries is disclosed and dealt wih in a very suttle manner without being too preachy ..The music and background score is nice , good garba beats that will push u to dance to their tune .
Performances : Kartik Aryan has done a good job with comic scenes and emotional scenes with total grace balancing them perfectly , he has perfectly portrayed the role of a zero with heart of gold to hero with heart full of love and respect for women
Kiara Advani has given a good performance apart from dance nos , she has performed an emotional role with finesse , keeping a straight face while dealing with inner turmoil to perfection
Others are good as per their role
Final Words : After a long time an entertaining movie with not too preachy message is presented to viewers ..A good long weekend watch
