Review Of The Play My Wife’s 8th Vachan – An Entertaining Play With Good Humor

Overview : The Play is inspired by your marriage .The play is about a mystery called “marriage” that has deepened with each effort of solving it

Storyline : The play revolves around a couple Madhur (Anup Soni) and his Wife Mahek (Monisha Singh Katial) , who have just completed 15 years of marriage , 

Madhur and Mahak are no different from any married couple who have been co-existing in each other’s lives for fifteen years and have been quarreling for reasons unknown. So much so that their little daughter has decided to study in a boarding school to avoid daily battles her parents invent out of nowhere. 

Mahak wants  to talk to Madhur about the state of their marriage. She is prepared even if some harsh decision needs to be made about it now. A reluctant Madhur finds himself in the uncanniness episode of his life when the eighth promise that Mahak made at the time of their marriage comes back to haunt her. What is that eight promise? Whom did she make it to? Is this the much-awaited break from their dilapidated marriage that they both needed? All this forms the crux of the show.

Main Review : The play connectz with most of the couples in today’s times when both thr partners have their own priorities and own agenda , in the midst of all this they just don’t talk much to each other and this leads to my misunderstanding and misinformation..The play explores these issues in an humourous way..In todays times everyone is so busy in themselves that husband  wife they take each other for granted and whatever little communication happens between them only leads to quarrels as ego clashes happen..The play gives the audience a lesson that don’t let the situation between coouples go out of hand that a third person gets a chance to squeeze in..Speak to each other is the mool mantra of the play , talking to each other is the only solution for happy married life to last long.

Technical Review : The Director has very well directed the play , the dialogues have a good punch , there are many humorous moments which keep the audience entertained throughout the play ..There is a beautiful song also that comes in between intervals which is the icing on the cake .

Performances: Anup Soni has attempted a comic role which is a wave of fresh breath as he is mostly into serious acting , this play gives him opportunity to explore humor which he has totally been fair to.Vinay Jain is good as per his role ..Monisha Singh Katial who is debuting in this play is very good her expressions and stage presence is too good to be missed.

Final Words : The play is a complete package of entertainment and humour with good storyline. A must watch.
