Review Of Movie Cirkus – A comedy that misses its spark

Overview : Its inspired by Movie Angoor , which itself was based on Shakespeare’s comedy of error

Storyline : The movie is set in the year 1942 , Bangalore wherein Dr Roy (Murali Sharma)of Jamnadas Orphanage is trying to convince university intellectuals that if a couple favors surrogacy and adoption, they may become a parent. At this point, he is questioned about the bloodline by one intellect. Later, at the Jamnadas Orphanage, the one which he co-runs with Joy, he is ready to experiment by swapping set of two twin babies to prove his point Additionally, he promised to tell the babies the truth 30 years from now .Two set of swapped boys are adopted by two wealthy parents , both are named Roy ( Ranveer Singh) and Joy (Varun Sharma) , One Roy and Joy are situated in Bangalore and Other Roy and Joy in ooty adopted by persons who run jubilee cirkus , the story then jumps to 1960’s when both roy and joy are adults , In Ooty Roy runs the Jubliee Cirkus, he gains fame as Electric Man as he is immune to electric shock , he does this act in his cirkus to get two raw wires to kiss each other with hus bare hands , but everytime he does this his twin brother gets electric shocks till the time act is over . The ooty roy is màrried to Mala ( Pooja Hegde) , whereas banglore Roy is in love with Bindu (Jacqueline Fernandez) , daughter of a millionaire and who’s father ( Sanjay Mishra) is skepticaĺ about Roy’s family background , so much so that he sends his secretary to spy on Roy , when he & Joy go to ooty for some business related work ,

The dramatic roller coaster starts at this point when many characters are introduced and many funny encounters take place , Do the four people meet up somewhere? Do they come to know the swapping secret? In the movie, all of these complex concerns get an answer

Technical Review : The plot is not new and based on twin mismatch comedy error ,many movies already made on such plot. Rohit Shetty though has tried to create a scenic picture postcard sets and nostalgic moments of old movies like johny mera naam etc , but comedy wise it fails to make audience laugh , inspite whole crowd of actors , there are many scenes that are repetitive, some of the comic scenes by Sanjay Mishra are entertaining but rest is just not upto the mark

Performances : Ranveer Singh tried hard to give best performance but fails due to poor story and screenplay , Varun Sharma has nothing much to do just like rest of the huge star cast , Sanjay Mishra is too good and Jacqueline adds the glamour potion ..Special appearance by Deepika Pudkone in a song is refreshing
