Review of Movie Shiddat

Overview : The plot portrays two parallel story of 2 couple and their journey of love.

Storyline : After a successful movie like Cocktail, Hindi Medium, Stree and Luka Chuppi, the filmmaker Dinesh Vijan  brings to us yet another next, love story, “Shiddat”.

The story begins with Gautam (Mohit Raina) who falls with un love with Ira (Diana Penty) , both of them are totally opposites both personally and professionally but as we all know opposites attract,  they decide to get married..Gautam at his wedding reception gives a speech that Ira is his destiny and that he would have gone to any lengths to get her..The magic of that speech works wonders on Jaggi (Sunny), a happy, carefree soul who was there to enjoy  free alcohol with his friends.

A year later we find jaggi trying to cross the border from France to england illegally,  there he again bumps into Gautam who is Indian Diplomat in France,  and he is there to deport him and send him back to India ..When Gautam tells Jaggi how he has fallen in this mess, he tells him that his wedding speech had left an powerful impact on his life..The movie then goes in flashback , jaggi was in Indian hockey team and during his  international sports event , he meets  Kartika (Radhika Madan ) who is from london and who is participating in swimming competition,  Jaggi gets attracted to her and falls in love with her , he helps her to win the tournament , though kartika likes him but she tells him that she is getting married in few months , so after the tournament she leaves for london…Jaggi though is sad but he is determined to get her to love him…He doesn’t get Visa so he tries to go to london the other way , On the other hand  Kartik has no idea that jaggi is stalking her and has come all the way to meet her, Gautam warns him that there is a lots of difference between wedding speech and reality , as his own marriage is on the brink of breaking , he tells jaggi that he is here to deport him , but jaggi doesn’t listen and tries to swim his way through the english channel but he fails…What more heights he will climb to get his love as he believes ki shiddat se kisho Chao toh destiny will definitely support you ..Will this prove right or wrong is for audience to watch.

Technical Review : Technically the fil is brilliant,  scenes like crossing the english channel and the climax scene are shot brilliantly..Director Kunal Deshmukh has given us a contemporary love story with a quirky twist and turns …The plot and climax have out of the box showcase..

Performances: Sunny Kaushal has done his role with full shiddat , he has performed well , both his intense look and fun looks are setting an example apart from normal.

Radhika Madan is average , sometimes she looks confused in the role.

Mohit Raina is very nice , his performance as a diplomat is upto a mark. Daina has nothing much to do.

Final Words : Its a quirky love story with special climax scenes that are mind blowing.  Good weekend watch.
