Sumesh and Poonam have been creating videos for a long period now on Rizzle, a short video content app. Little did they know, that they would be one of the leading content creators and get recognition in various ways. In a conversation with Filmy Film India,(FFI) Sumesh shared few secrets about his and Poonam’s journey in becoming what they are today.
FFI :How has curating videos created an impact on your personal life ?
Sumesh: From the start, the acting bug hit me. Poonam did act but she wasn’t that into being in the front for videos. But she loves to dance. Knowing this, I asked her to come to shoot videos since her skills are great and like I predicted, fans loved her on rizzle. Now its Poonam who reminds me to shoot videos!
FFI :What is the future of content creators from a short video app to the film/television world?
Sumesh: It’s simple: sacrifice and hard work always pays off and helps. The series is growing and it will continue to grow in the coming months/years. We have a real interest in this and have also started working on story ideas on thinking about what can happen in the future with this idea, how we can make it happen. Because of this, suspense builds for new things among our fan base and that is very encouraging. Fans wait, for example, if a content creator is making a new film or a tv show, and if they have really done a lot to work hard in creating something special, fans only will ask when is it coming! The future for content creators is bright.
FFI : How did you both get hooked on the Rizzle app?
Poonam: Rizzle app the series that we made, we got a lot of responses from fans and our interest grew. We recently launched the series ‘Padosan Ke Saath Setting’ and it’s is a fun rom-com where a simple guy falls in love with his neighbour only to find out his feelings are reciprocated by the girl too. Sumesh always wanted to create series and Rizzle was receptive. They have a great series format different from anyone else. Sumesh wanted to work on series since the start. After working on a few series, Sumesh found a similar mindset on Rizzle and now creating more and more unique pieces on the Rizzle app.
FFI :Do we see any new kinds of the series genre coming up from your end?
Sumesh: Yes, a lot of new series are coming. One of them is about a very strange, nutty kind of character who falls in love with something and how he deals with it. It’s coming soon on Rizzle Series.
FFI: Any associations with celebrities of films that you plan to share with us?
Poonam: There are a few things in the pipeline but can’t reveal details about is so soon. We both are very excited but can’t talk about it soon, will update!
