Overview : The movie stirs a debate between luck and hardwork .. Which works more .

 

Storyline: The story revolves around Zoya Solanki ( Sonam Kapoor ) who was born at the time when India won Cricket World Cup under Kapil Dev Captaincy . Zoya’s father ( Sanjay Kapoor ) believes that zoya is very lucky for cricket as she was born at the same time as the winning of world cup.But as zoya grows up her luck is not so good for herself as both her love life and professional life sucks…She is working as a junior copywriter in an ad agency ..As a part of her assignment she travels to Sri Lanka to work on ad with Team India.. She tells the team about her luck and India wins the match that day after consecutive losses. Everyone starts believing it’s Zoya’s luck that’s helping India win but not the captain Nikhil Khoda (Dulquer Salmaan). Nikhil believes in hard work but falls in love with Zoya and her clumsiness. On the other hand .Ex captain of team India Angad Bedi is jealous of Nikhil and would go to any length to pull him down from captaincy.He takes advantage of Nikhil falling in love with Zoya . He gets Zoya appointed as Lucky Mascot to accompany Team India for world cup matches. Obviously Nikhil is not happy as team believes in superstitions more and not hard work…Zoya is also made to believe that Nikhil is just using her luck for his personal performance in cricket ..Is it true or false , That’s what the rest of the story is all about and also whether or not India will win the World Cup.

Script Analysis &Director Review : The Script is an adaptation of Anusha Chauhan’s Book by the same name but the screen outcome is not that impressive ..Director Abhishek Sharma though had directed the movie well but the script is filled with fantasies leaving hardly any room for reality

Performances: Dulquer Salman as team captain has done a good job , he has acted very well but he needs to choose his roles wisely..Sonam Kapoor is most suitable for such clumsy roles as she does them brilliantly. Angad Bedi is too good .Sanjay Kapoor is wasted and Sikander Kher doesn’t fit the role of sonam’s brother.
