Cast : Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Nithya Menen, Sharman Joshi, Kirti Kulhari, Dalip Tahil, Sanjay Kapoor
Director : Jagan Shakti

Overview : Mission Mission (MoM) aka Mangalyaan launched in November 2013 that got a space probe orbiting Mars by November 2014, and catapulted ISRO into a small, elite club of space agencies worldwide to have reached the Red Planet. It is a saga of Indian enterprise, jugaad and hope.
Storyline : Mission Mangal’s story is told through a fictional Sceintist ,mission director named Rakesh Dhawan (Akshay Kumar)and his female team headed by project director Tara Shinde (Vidya Balan). They failed in launching the Chandrayaan 2 due to silly mistake made by Tara . But Rakesh takes it upon himself the failure. Rakesh is transferred to Work on Mangalyaan that may not launch. The Chandrayaan 2 mission is transferred to Mr Rupert (DalipTahil) who is an Ex NASA Cheif . Tara feels very sad for Rakesh and suggest him that they work on Mission Mangal and launch Mangalyaan. Rakesh tries to convince the Isro head for funds but Mr Rupert plays the bad man and always creates hurdles for him Luckily Chandrayaan2 launch is aborted .Considering that situation Rakesh manages to convince Isro chief but he gets half the budget and the spacecraft also small. He expects a good and experienced team but thanks to Rupert he gets inexperienced and immature team to work with. They just consider themselves as govt worker doing 9 to 5 job and dont consider themselves as scientist. Will Rakesh and Tara alongwith such team and small budget will be able to launch Mangalyaan is for the audience to watch.

Script Analysis & Director Review : The Script is good but it lacks proper research. The Director has tried to put funny moments in the movie which are fictionalized. It would have been better if he had done a proper research and made a proper space movie. I think the director was in some sort of a hurry to release the movie . Though he has tried to simply the entire process of the launch of Mangalyaan for common person to understand.
He has also portrayed the thought that where there is a will there is a way .
Performances : Akshay Kumar has done a decent job. Kudos to Akshay Kumar for playing the second fiddle to Balan , totally accepting it .Vidya Balan is excellent as expected . She outshines everyone with her act.
Balancing her domestic life with an old-fashioned husband and demanding kids with an equally punishing professional life- this could be the story of every modern working woman. These are the bits that sparkle and make Mission Mangal worth a watch. The rest of the supporting cast comprising Nithya Menen, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi and H.G. Dattatreya, Vikram Gokhale, Sanjay Kapoor, and Dalip Tahil make the best of the sketchy roles they have been pencilled in for.

Final Word : Despite its creative shortcomings, director Jagan Shakti makes the film evoke patriotic fervor in the audience. The last 20 mins of the climax will keep you on the edges. Those are the moment of pride and glory for India.
