Overview : A movie with a strong message without being too preachy
StoryLine : The Story is set in Punjab in a small town of Mogha where Balwinder Singh (Anil Kapoor) who is so called Mukesh Ambani of Mogha as he has biggest Garment Factory. Balwinder Singh’s Daughter Sweety Singh (Sonam Kapoor) is leading a very sober life due to her sexuality since her school days .Her brother comes to know about it and is after her to mend her ways. She meets a girl who she falls in love with , with all her heart. She goes to meet her in Delhi too ,her brother follows her and chases she escape into a drama theatre , where she meets Sahil Mirza (Rajkumar Rao) who is play writer who wants to do big on his own and not depend on his rich parents . Sweety ask for his help to reach metro station , he instantly falls in love so much so that he follows he lands up in Mogha where sweety stays , from there on they meet up and Sahil comes to know about Sweety and her sexuality and the pain behind it .Sahil decides to help her to reveal truth to her father and the society how will he do that is for the audience to watch.
Script Analysis And Director Review : The Script is good , but it has many loose ends it could have been much better
Director Shelly Chopra Dhar has done a good job
She has managed to put across the pain and loneliness do people with different sexuality go through . How people of the society don’t accept such persons .Shelly has rightly put the tagline to set love free.
Performances :Anil Kapoor is the best. Especially in the scene when he reads his daughter’s diary and realises the pain she has gone through. Sonam Kapoor is perfect and her role is quite sober. Rajkumar Rao is very good and he sets screen on fire. Juhi Chawla is very nice and she adds humour in the movie .
Final Words : Watch it for Anil Kapoor’s hilarious role
