Overview : The film depicts the disastrous state of the education system
Storyline : The Story is set in Lucknow, where in Satyendra Dubey uff Sattu (Snighadeep Chatterjee) is a scholar in studies . He belongs to middle class family who has huge expectation from him. Sattu gets selected in entrance exams for engineering with flying marks. Rakesh Singh aka Rocky (Emran Hashmi) is a scamster who hunts Sattu and offers him money to be proxy and give exams on behalf of students who are not too bright but from financially well settled families. In other words Rakesh takes money from Rich people and pay poor people in between he earns lakhs of rupees. He has the opinion that he is doing nothing wrong and that he will never be caught. He tricks Sattu to work for him.
Sattu continues to work for him but after some time he breaks down and surrenders to pressure ..Rakesh in a shock flee’s Sattu to Qatar giving him Duplicate Degree . Though Rakesh gets into legal trouble but he gets out of it easily and moves on and goes to Mumbai to enter into more education scams at big level for MBA entrance exams. He meets Sattu’s Sister I’m Mumbai with whom he had fallen in love in spite of being married. Sattu’s sister (Shreya Dhanwantry) , has met him with an hidden agenda. What is this agenda and will Rakesh continue to cheat or will he be in big trouble is for the audience to watch
Script Analysis And Director Review : The story is weak .It fails to connect massively. Script is too monotonous and drags at times. The editing and cinematography is too weak spoiling the good plot.Though dialogues at times are good .
The Director lacks the skill to present a good movie with such powerful subject.
Performances : Emran Hashmi is one man who can carry entire film on his shoulder .With his clicked moustache and cute look he tricks you into his charm .He has done a fantastic job as a scamster who makes you believe that he is Robin hood of today’s time .He proudly tells that he is a Khiladi and not a cheat
Shreya Dhanwantry is outstanding in the second half , her expressions are too good especially in second half when she breaks down.
Snighadeep Chatterjee looks and have acted well as an engineering student to perfection..
Final Words :Why Cheat India is an informative and entertaining movie without being too preachy.Emraan Hashmi Has Returned to big screen with an honest attempt
