Overview : A modernised version of the movie Kranti
StoryLine :The Story is set in the Era of 1800 when the East India Company had landed in India headed by John Clive who was merciless commander capturing Indian Kingdoms.
One such kingdom of Raunakpur headed by King Mirza (Ronit Roy) falls prey to such British treachery.The king and his wife and son gets killed by John Clive’s army but somehow his daughter Zafira (Fatima Sana Sheikh) is saved in the nick of time by the kingdom’s general Khudabaksh (Amitabh Bachchan).
Khudabaksh takes upon himself responsibility of upbringing Zafira .Zafira joins Khudabaksh’s Group Azad. She undergoes training and for 11years they have kept the fire of getting azaadi and Zafira gets ready to seek vengeance from the British.
Then enters Firangi Malha (Aamir Khan ) who with Kohl in his eyes and shrewdness as his second nature. He is cunning and unreliable who can even sell his own countrymen for a few gold coins.
He treasures nothing but his own life and dreams of sailing to England someday.
The British knowing this appoints Firangi to Find Khudabaksh aka Azad and bring him to Company.
For Khudabaksh nothing is more valuable than his freedom. He is determined to get their freedom back whereas Firangi is totally opposite. When Khudabaksh and Firangi’s path crosses , Khudabaksh wants to give him one chance to redeem his way but can he be trusted ?
What happens next forms the rest of the story.
Script Analysis And Director Review : The script is obsolete , nothing new at all .The Director Vijay Krishna Acharys has nothing much to offer except for bringing two Biggie’s together .The sets are undoubtedly great and Aamir Khan’s Get up is quite good .The plot is too weak and the background score is quite loud and it’s there throughout the movie.
Performances :Amitabh Bachchan as Khudabaksh reminds us of his role in Khuda Gawah movie . Almost matching acting and getups nothing extraordinary.
Though Aamir Khan has done a good job and he has done his role of an unreliable person who can change any minute perfectly only the script lacks any volume.
Katrina Kaif plays the role of Suraiya the suductress who adds the oomph factor with her two item songs and four dialogues which she delivers with sultry panache.
Fatima Sana Sheikh as Zafira to performs a few stunts with vigour
Final Words: Watch it only for Amitabh And Aamir the two Big A’s of film industry
