Overview :Stree reflects the story of women who are still struggling to gain respect and love from society whether in real or spirit

 

StoryLine .The story is set in small town of Chanderi. The town is under a curse of a female spirit who during four days of Pooja that happens once a year , visits the town and abducts male persons of the town and take them away with her leaving only their clothes behind. In the same town stays Vicky (Rajkummar Rai) who is a Star Dressmaker.He is called Manish Malhotra of Chanderi.

His father believes he is an artist.

Vicky is in love with a mysterious girl played by Shraddha Kapoor who only visits the town every year for the past 3years during the religious festival of 4 days and then she disappears.

 

Vicky’s friends Bittu(Aparshakti Khurana ) and Abhishek Banerjee (Buna) think that Vicky’s girlfriend is the witch who is behind abduction of men of Chanderi. They ask Vicky to stay away from her.

But Vicky is not able to stay away from her. Amidst this Vicky’s friends Dana gets abducted by the spirit , this incident shakes both Vicky and Bittu.

They decide to solve this mystery and get their friend back. They meet Pankaj Tiwari who is a bookstore owner and who has done a lot of research on the female spirit who is behind abduction of men of Chanderi.

Will Vicky and his friends able to unveil this mystery of the spirit .Will he be able to free his town and it’s people from the spirit . What is the secret behind Shraddha Kapoor .All this is for the audience to watch

 

Script Analysis And Director Review : The script is good but backward , does all this happen in this day when we are in 21st century .The script is unrealistic. But the director has tried to give a huge message that Women should be given respect and love that they deserve .

There are comic moments in the script that makes the horror scenes enjoyable. Many filmmakers don’t set their foot in this horror comedy genre as it is extremely difficult to produce this genre .The background score is good and cinematography is fantastic.

 

Performances: Rajkummar Rao is fantastic .His facial expressions of fear and comic are potrayed totally in awe. He is awesome in the movie.His accent is too good. Shraddha Kapoor has nothing much to do .She has done the mysterious role very mysteriously.

 

Pankaj Tripathi and Aparshakti are too good

 

Final Word :The Movie will keep you entertained throughout .No dull moment .Total Paisa vasool variety.
