Overview : The Journey of How India Won Gold In  Hockek At Olympic Pre and Post Independence.

 

StoryLine : The Story is set in 1936 when British India Hockey Team had won Gold in Berlin Olympics .The Indian team had won but at that time as British Rule was in India so British Indian flag was hoisted. This team was led by Assistant Manager Tapan Das (Akshay Kumar) and Team Coach was Kumar (Kunal Kapoor) . When Tapan saw that British Indian Flag is hoisted. He determines that In next Olympics he will want to hoist Indian flag after 200 years of British Rule.

 

Tapan comes to know that India will be getting freedom in 1947 and next Olympics will be held in 1948. He approaches Me Wadia the CEO of Hockey Games and convinced him to grant him to form hockey team. Mr Wadia agrees and Tapan starts working in forming a team selecting players from all over the city  . He forms a team consisting of Prince Raghuvir Pratap Singh (Amit Sadh) , from Punjab he selects Himmat Singh (Sunny Kaushal) and many . The team is led by Imitiaz (Vinit Kumar Singh). And many other. Their training and coaching starts. After that News come in of India getting it’s Independence but with that comes a big blow of partition of India And Pakistan .This partition brings a big blow to Tapan and his team .His team is divided and he is back to square one. What happens next is for the audience to watch .

 

Director Review And Script Analysis: Director Reema Kagti had always tried to give different script. She has very well directed the movie. The pre and post Independence scenes are shown aptly and her message of patriosim come across loud and clear.  Cunematogrphy is very good .Locations are selected perfectly. Each and every character journey is depicted beautifully , their love to play for India

 

Performances :Akshay Kumar is a power House of talent .He is brilliant I’m his role playing Babu fully wearing dhoti , Kunal Kapoor , Amit Sadh , Sunny Kaushal all are brilliant. Mouni Roy has played Akshay Kumar’s wife role .She has done a good job .She looks beautiful in the movie

 

Final Word :It’s a must watch for all Indians
