Review of Veere di Wedding

Overview : An adult comedy showcasing life journey of four friends.

StoryLine : The story begins with one of the four friends)

Avni Sharma (Sonam Kapoor Ahuja), Sakshi Soni (Swara Bhasker) and Meera Sood (Shikha Talsania) four together-since-college kind of buddies. They call themselves Veeres (Brothers) and share this immortal bond with each other. 10 years fast-forwarding from their school friendship, we see all four busy with their own lives in different parts of the world. They’re  far away but are as much together as they were before.

The Siyappa begins when Kalandi (Kareena Kapoor Khan), accepts the proposal to get married to her live in boyfriend Rishab (Sumeet Vyas). They both are living in Australia but Rishab wants to get married accordingly to his parents wish in Delhi. Kalandi announces her friends  that she is getting married in Delhi. All 3 freinds of her get together for her marriage. .Each one of them have their story to sort. Avni (Sonam Kapoor) is a divorce lawyer who is on the lookout for perfect and loving groom but fails each time.

Sakshi Soni (Swara Bhaskar) who belongs to Delhi multi millionaire family but gets married as per her choice but her marriage is on the brink of divorce due to some obscene reason and now the husband is blackmailing her. Meera Sood (Shika Talsani) gets married to a foreigner against her family wish and has a kid too , she has her own issues. When Kalindi reaches Delhi , she finds herself in middle of larger than life of wedding drama , loud Punjabi wedding which she did not want , she is confused ,Rest of the story revolves around each of the  friends lives and how they tackle the societal perceptions breaking the stereotypes.

 

Script Analysis and Director Review: The script has many loopholes. It makes the story .. The Director tries to fit in too many issues in one frame.How lives of four friends are tangled and then how it gets untangled is shown nicely .The Director has used a lot of vulgar language which may not connect to Rural Indian Mentality.

 

Performances : Though Kareena Kapoor is looking fresh even after pregnancy but she does seems lost at some points.

 

Sonam Kapoor is good , Swara Bhaskar Has done her part too well , most of foul dialogues are mouth by her but she has portrayed it with grace. Shika Talsania is good samaritan . Sumeet Vyas has done a good job

 

Final Word : Though the movie tries hard to be humorous but lacks at many end .It’s a once watch movie .
