Review of the Movie Haseena

Overview : A glimpse in the life of Haseena Parkar the sister of Most Wanted Don .

Story Line : The story Begins with a high voltage entry and drama of Haseena Parkar (Shraddha Kapoor ), who is summoned to the courst for extortion filed against her by a big builder though the builder himself is absent from the court . His lawyer manages to summon Haseena to the court and she tries very hard to prove Haseena Guilty for extortion and carrying on her brother’s business in Mumbai . When Opposition Lawyer starts levying allegations , Haseena Parkar tries to prove her innoncence by explaining her stand , from there on the movie flashes back , she narrates her story how she belonged to the kaskar family consisting of 12 children , her father a sincere policemen , but due to poverty how dawood and his brother took to illegal business , dawood was close to his sister haseena , who used to always support him , inspite of their father’s opposing .

Haseena gets married to Ankur Bhatia, who is a simple man , and loves her unconditionally , she is leading a simple and happy life with her husband and children , when one day when a series of events happened on after other like her brother sabir being killed , a series of bomb blast in bombay , her brother dawood had to flee the country , he escapes to Dubai , Also her husband is also killed , from there on her life became a hell as she is each day questioned by the police if she knew if her brother had conducted the blast and trigggered hindu muslim riots leading deaths of many innocent people . Haseena is totally shattered by the harrasment . Then she narrates how her brothers reputation on one hand was a curse for her as she lost her husband and her young so due to D’S enemies , but on the other hand her brother’s reputation also played an aid in becoming Haseena Appa . What happens next will the opposition be able to prove Haseena Guilty ? Will any witness come to court All this and her journey as Appa is for the audience to watch .

 

Script Analysis And Director Review : The Script is lacking any volume and has many loopholes . The script is monotous , it lacks thrill that was expected in an under world based movie . Director Appoorva Lakhia has attempted to depict the life of a under world don’s sister , which no one else has attempted before , though there are many movie made on underworld . Though Apoorva has given a very well researched story but the screenplay has manged to wipe it off totally .The court room scenes looks more like a debate session is on . Some dailogues of the Judge are hilarious that freshness you up amidst monotony

 

Performances : Shraddha Kapoor has tried very hard to go deep into the skin of the character , in her expressions , get up and accent , but the role does not suit it at all . The casting Director hasdone a blunder in casting Shraddha Kapoor as Haseena , though in my opinion Vidya Balan would more have suited in this character . Though Shraddha has managed to carry the entire film on her shoulder but the loose script is gone bad .

Siddanth Kapoor As Dawood at some points looks lost . Ankur Bhatia as Haseena’s Husband has done a good job though his role is very short . The best part is played by the opposition lawyer played by Priyanka Sethia , she has done an excellent job and reminds us about rajini a popular tv series character played by Priya Tendulkar ,

 

Final Word : If you think that Haseena will be a nice thriller , but you will be disappointed . You can watch it once , but not a must watch . Watch it only if you are a Shraddha Kapoor fan.
